Based in Sydney CBD, this newly created position of Client Support Coordinator has been established to assist DVSM clients to apply for a $2,000 Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) no interest loan (NILs). This position is being offered as a part time 24 hours per week 12 months maximum term contract.

NILs refers to the Good Shepherd ANZ’s no interest loan scheme.

Purpose of Position

The Client Support Coordinator reports to the Service Lead, and works closely with DFV Case Managers and their client referrals, to assist our DVSM clients with the preparation and submission of their no interest loan (NILs) applications via the on-line portal.

You will need community services experience and a good understanding of the impacts of domestic and family violence whilst being patient and very supportive towards our DVSM clients.

To be female is a genuine requirement for the position under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

This role is positioned SCHADS Award Level 5.

As we are a registered charity, salary packaging is available.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work closely with the DVSM Case Managers with internal client referrals for the no interest loans (NILs)
  • Adhere to the guidelines as set out in the NILs handbook
  • Assist DVSM clients with preparation and submitting the loan documentation required ensuring all guidelines have been adhered to
  • Raise awareness of NILs with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work in alignment with DVSM values and principles
  • Undertake other duties within the scope of this role, as reasonably directed 

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2 – 3 years' work experience in the community services sector
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impacts of domestic and family violence  
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail, efficiency and ownership
  • Patient and empathetic manner, with high emotional intelligence skills to assist our clients with their loan applications
  • Excellent verbal communications and interpersonal skills including competence to manage sensitive matters and materials
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directing, plan and prioritise workload and show initiative
  • Able to market, promote and liaise with external stakeholders  
  • Sound written communication skills  
  • Computer literacy skills to at least an intermediate level  
  • A confident, proactive ‘can-do’ attitude with willingness to multitask and self-manage competing priorities with proactive communication and flexibility to support the team     
  • Demonstrated ability to effect and maintain a positive workplace culture and environment

Current Driver’s Licence is a requirement.

A successful Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Federal Police check is required to be employed with DVSM.
