the position

DEN is seeking an experienced Project Officer to undertake the development, focus-testing and implementation of a new online ‘Community Conversations’ resource. The Project Officer will be able to demonstrate previous experience in project management, possess strong written and oral communication skills, and demonstrate a pro-active, self-directed approach to managing a dynamic workload.

The ‘Community Conversations’ Project Officer will perform a range of complex functions, holding full responsibility for the planning, coordination and completion of all activities pertaining to the Drug Education Network’s ‘Community Conversations’ project. The Project Officer will act in alignment with the project plan and funding KPI’s, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and community members to ensure the project’s successful implementation and completion.

DEN’s main office is located in Hobart though candidates from across the state will be considered, as long as they are willing to undertake travel (where required). This position would suit an experienced project officer, with prior experience in the Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug sector.

We are seeking a Project Officer with:

  • A demonstrated understanding and knowledge of ATOD in a health promotion and prevention context
  • High-level interpersonal/ soft communication skills
  • High-level written and research skills
  • A proven ability to self-direct and remain accountable for a diverse workload while independently keeping track of and managing multiple concurrent tasks
