The Strategic Sourcing Group provides whole of government procurement solutions to achieve best value for the Victorian Government. This recently established team within the Strategic Sourcing Group works closely with high value procurement & project teams across the Victorian Government to support and ensure social procurement is embedded and delivering priority outcomes under the Social Procurement Framework.

About the role

A newly created VPS5 Senior Social Procurement Analyst position has been created; this role is an exciting opportunity to see your work make an impact to the lives of Victorian people.

In this role you will be responsible for key aspects of supporting the implementation of the Building Equality Policy. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to lead the research and development of monitoring frameworks and systems and to support construction projects through data driven insights. This will initially be a one-year fixed term contract.

Key accountabilities:

  • Access, collate, analyse and present a variety of data and other information to inform social procurement approaches, with a particular focus on large construction projects
  • Design and deliver a compliance monitoring and reporting framework and systems for the Building Equality Policy
  • Lead the research and development of procurement process monitoring and reporting to inform future approaches
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to research, access and interpret data then display relevant insights
  • Present considered and well researched insights to inform decision making
  • Undertake research to build insights into social procurement approaches

About you

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in receiving, collating, and analysing data in different formats from a variety of sources for informing problem solving
  • Strong skills in building relationships and collaborating with stakeholders from a range of disciplines
  • Strong IT skills including data analysis, manipulation and interpretation, developing dashboards, data storage and other reporting tools
  • An ability to contribute to projects, undertake independent and/or team-based research and deliver timely influential advice which has been informed by relevant data
  • An ability to design and develop frameworks for reporting and/or monitoring
  • Strong skills in negotiation, oral and written communication, including presenting to senior staff and tailoring messages to audiences with different levels of technical skills
  • Willingness to create a positive workplace culture by demonstrating a proactive team orientated and collaborative approach including a positive attitude to assist the Strategic Sourcing group to achieve its objectives
