The Strategic Sourcing Group provides whole of government procurement solutions to achieve best value for the Victorian Government. This recently established team within the Strategic Sourcing Group works closely with high value procurement & project teams across the Victorian Government to support and ensure social procurement is embedded and delivering priority outcomes under the Social Procurement Framework.

About the role

  • One-year fixed-term contract

The Social Procurement Advisor role is a critical role working to deliver significant social impact through influencing how high value projects are planned, procured and delivered. You will draw on and contribute to the team's social and procurement experience to build innovative solutions and improve performance.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide strategic advice to high-value procurement activities to maximise outcomes across social and sustainable procurement, including gender equality and COVID recovery
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of team processes, specialist tools, templates, analytics and reporting to facilitate the delivery of priority outcomes
  • Consult, negotiate and influence stakeholders on the application of the SPF and BEP to complex procurement scenarios
  • Work collaboratively across the team to prioritise and manage a caseload of procurement projects as well as service development activities
  • Review and/or support development of social procurement documentation and reporting
  • Draw meaningful insights from a variety of data and information sources to contribute to a bank of best practice resources for social procurement

About you

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated experience in either procurement, diversity and inclusion, construction or the social sector that is relevant to the provision of advice in the procurement process
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of team to develop solutions and progress initiatives
  • Excellent influencing, negotiation and communication skills leading to productive stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to work independently to plan and prioritise work to ensure outcomes are achieved in a dynamic environment where there are competing priorities
  • Ability to draft accurate and succinct reports, briefings and submissions, identifying key issues and providing well researched options
  • Demonstrated understanding of workforce gender equality challenges
