About the business:

DVassist is a unique and innovative new not-for-profit organisation that addresses the complex issue of abusive relationships in regional, rural and remote areas by providing readily accessible advice and services to assist people to live meaningful and safe lives. We do this via an online information hub and service directory, and free telephone and web-chat counselling services.

About the role:

This is a newly created role which will report to the CEO initially and external specialist consultants and long term we expect a Manager to be appointed, as the organisation grows. The role is full time, however would consider part time arrangements for the right applicant and it is based in our Subiaco office. This is a 12 month contract role to June 2022. Immediate start preferred.

Our contract consultants are specialists in Government Relations, Philanthropy, Corporate Sponsorship and Foundations funding and will mentor and support the growth of the person in this position. This role will work closely with them in supporting donor acknowledgements; documentation preparation; monitoring raised funds; database integrity, event support and assist with grant applications and research. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to enhance their skills and work under the direction of senior specialists and a CEO with an extensive marketing/communication background. Additional activities required in the role including:-

  • Support preparation of grant applications and proposals for Corporate, Philanthropy and Foundation programs.
  • Research and provide updates on sector related government and target corporate announcements.
  • Identify funding prospects and assist with research and preparation for approaches.
  • Work with team to brief everyone on funding activities and staying across activities impacting funding approaches.
  • Support the CEO with government contract meetings.
  • Assist with small awareness and relationship building and engagement events.
  • Assist on special projects as required, when workload allows.

About You

If you are a self-motivated, forward thinking fundraising co-ordinator with strong written communication skills and looking for an opportunity to grow and develop, this is a great role to gain broad industry experience. We are seeking applicants with some experience and strong attention to detail and written communication skills, who can work on their own and also as part of a growing, supportive and vibrant environment. Further you will have:

  • Diploma or other qualifications in Business/Administration/Marketing/Communications
  • 12 months experience undertaking similar administrative and other activities
  • Strong interpersonal skills as this role will be engaging across broad stakeholder groups
  • Experience with CRM system and SharePoint desirable
  • Advanced MS Office Skills and basic graphic design skills using programs such as Canva
  • Proactive and demonstrated initiative
