At DVConnect our aim is for all relationships to be free from domestic, family, and sexual violence. We are the only service providing a state-wide response across Queensland through our Womensline, Mensline and Sexual Assault Helplines to meet the safety needs of those living with domestic and family violence. We also provide specialist therapeutic counselling support across Australia, within the national 1800RESPECT program.
As a Crisis Intervention Counsellor, you will provide domestic and family violence support services to Queensland women through information and referral, crisis counselling, safety planning, advocacy and providing safe accommodation and travel.
You will be responsible for making professionals assessments of caller needs and taking all reasonable action to meet these needs within the operating framework and principles of DVConnect.
Our Crisis Intervention Counsellors also respond to incoming calls on the Queensland Sexual Assault line and at times on DVConnect’s Mensline.
We are currently looking for applicants who can work a variety of shifts across a 27/7 roster including overnight shifts (9:30pm-6:30am).
All offers of employment are subject to satisfactory background checks, including a National Police Check, Working with Children Check, referee checks, proof of eligibility to work in Australia and evidence of COVID-19 vaccination.
