The role – Fundraising & Events Assistant

This is a unique opportunity for a passionate, commercially minded and organised individual to join our rapidly growing organisation! As the Fundraising & Events Assistant, you will be the main driver of Dymocks Children's Charities events and develop fundraising opportunities. Utilising your high level verbal and written communication skills, you will plan and deliver inspiring fundraising events and campaigns from start to finish. You will actively engage with our stakeholders and contacts within the book industry to execute and deliver on our mission. Reporting to the Fundraising and Events Manager, you will also be responsible for:

  • Proactively generate new events and fundraising opportunities
  • Coordinating all Dymocks Children’s Charities events end to end
  • Work with team to develop an annual fundraising and events calendar
  • Using data analytics and strategies to engage and grow the audience/ donors
  • Building and maintaining relationships across new and existing stakeholders
  • Coordinating venue, equipment hires and catering for external or virtual events
  • Preparing budget proposals for submission to internal and external parties
  • Engage with potential corporate and community fundraising hosts to improve the quality and number of fundraising events including advice and marketing materials.
  • Utilising multiple channels to generate interest in and maximise the uptake of our events
  • Working with team to develop content for social media and website for fundraising and events
  • Ensuring all customers are given a great experience in dealings with Dymocks Children’s Charities
  • Updating CRM with respect to fundraising and events

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum two years’ experience working in fundraising, events or relevant field – essential
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a focussed team
  • Previous non-profit experience welcome but not essential
  • Passion for social justice and helping kids in need
  • A 'can-do' and collaborative attitude with a strong attention to detail
  • CRM experience preferred
