Our services include Community Health, Mental Health, NDIS, Counselling, Support for Older Australians and Family Services.

Who we're looking for

Under the Enhancing Mental Health Supports in Schools (EMHSS) project, an exciting initiative between headspace and the Department of Education and Training (DET), EACH is looking for a part-time (.4FTE) Clinician to deliver mental health activities to young people from Yr 7 to 12 who are at-risk of disengaging at school.

If you're a Mental Health Clinician, qualified in Youth Work, Social Work, Master of Counselling or a related discipline, enjoy variety in your day, and working closely with other service delivery professionals, then keep reading!

You will have experience and passion for working with adolescents and young adults with varied mental health difficulties, a demonstrated understanding of school culture and the challenging problems facing young people. With your demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), problem-solving and negotiation skills, you will be specially equipped to speak with young people in the early stages of help-seeking.

What you'll be doing

Your role will be varied on a day-to-day basis. Utilising your outstanding clinical skills in working with young people and their families/carers with mental health issues in an early intervention framework, you will provide evidence-based treatments to young people through a range of individual and group work sessions.

As the EMHSS Clinician, you will work flexibly - centre-based, from one of the 3 headspace centres (Pakenham, Narre Warren and Dandenong), at schools and via telehealth and phone. This will allow the role to be able to provide the best care to young people, making a huge difference to the lives of those with mental health concerns.

Who you'll be working with

Reporting to the Team Leader School Services, you will be part of the School Services Team which consists of a number of programs working works across the 4 South Eastern headspace centres and in schools in the Casey, Cardinia and Dandenong LGAs.

You will be supported by a Family Clinician, work alongside another EMHSS Clinician and a multidisciplinary team of health service professionals who are dedicated to working with young people and their families, who present with complex and long-standing mental health challenges, to achieve the best possible outcomes.
