Who we're looking for

Our Manningham Youth Services (MYS) team is looking for a .6FTE Project Officer - Rainbow Connections until January 2022!

If you hold a qualification in Social Science, are experienced in delivering innovative youth outreach activities/programs and have a sound understanding of the needs and issues experienced by young people who identify as LGBTQIA+, then you could be the exact person were looking for!

We're looking for someone who is passionate about working with vulnerable young people, who wants to work as part of a small collaborative team and take ownership of and create a quality service as one of the program founding members in the community. You will enjoy building strong partnerships and relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, be trustworthy and approachable with strong organisation skills.

Having a demonstrated understanding through lived experiences of the health and wellbeing needs of LGBTQIA+ young people and their families is highly desirable to be successful in this role.

What you'll be doing

Your days will be varied as the Rainbow Connection Project Officer, where you will be responsible for establishing, co-designing, implementing and facilitating an LGBTQIA+ social support program for young people. The role will be highly engaging working collaboratively at all times with Manningham Council, headspace Hawthorn and Access Health and Community to support the program's vision and overall success.

Who you'll be working with

Reporting into the Team Leader - Manningham Youth Services, you'll be joining a small team of service delivery professionals dedicated to promoting community-inclusive youth services aimed to improve the health and wellbeing of local young people.
