About the role:

The Technical Officer will be responsible for the provision of advice, administration and project management for all building and construction related activities including maintenance, upgrades, new construction and project management.

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:

• Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in a related discipline (i.e. engineering, architecture, building trades, project management).
• Ability to regularly meet specified targets and milestones in line with Project requirements.
• Proficiency in the investigation and documentation of latent site and building conditions.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and document the building and construction related needs of internal and external clients through consultation.
• Demonstrated ability to compile and profitably administer reasonably complex building and construction contracts and technical specifications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite.
• Proficiency in the use of Drafting Software (Revit or similar).

It would be desirable if you also possessed:

• Willingness to travel by light aircraft and 4 wheel drive on remote roads as required.
• Previous experience working or living within an Indigenous setting and ability to demonstrate a high level of cross cultural awareness in the workplace.
• Awareness of issues affecting Indigenous people to ensure effective participation in a cross-cultural environment.
• Experience working within a remote setting with the ability to think outside the box.

What you'll get in return:

A Full Time Fixed Term (2 years) position receiving a salary of $77,450.60, plus superannuation and locality allowance. You will also benefit from 6 weeks of annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.

Please be aware that housing and relocation assistance is not provided with this role. Access to own housing in either the Darwin or Nhulunbuy region is a must for the successful candidate.
