Eastern Community Legal Centre (ECLC) is a multidisciplinary legal service that works to prevent problems, progress fair outcomes and support the wellbeing and resilience of communities and community members in Melbourne’s East.

About the role

The Team Assistant - People and Shared Services will be an integral member of a highly supportive team, providing operational support across a growing and dynamic not-for-profit organisation.

This role will work closely with the Manager – Shared Services and People and Volunteer Co-ordinator, assisting in a range of activities across the organisation relating to human resources, volunteers, office management, ICT and digital workplace, and more. The Team Assistant – People and Shared Services will also work with the broader team members and other staff across the organisation to ensure that the full range of support can be provided.

About You

We are seeking an outcomes focused person with a passion for administrative systems and processes that support teams to function well. You will be a flexible person, who can ‘make things happen’, utilising initiative and a pro-active mindset. This will be supported by your supreme organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple functions and tasks simultaneously.

Specifically, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in similar role, preferably within NFP/community sector; tertiary qualifications desirable (for example, in relevant administrative/business management studies)
  • Highly organised, with the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritise work
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people, building trust and fostering relationships quickly, maintaining discretion and integrity at all times
  • Ability to work proactively and independently, with minimal direction, and as part of a collaborative team
