Digital Communications Officer (Voluntary)

Edmund Rice Centre

The Edmund Rice Centre for Justice and Community Education (ERC) is seeking candidates for the (voluntary) position up to 2 days/week of Digital Communications Officer (Pacific Calling Partnership).

The ERC was established in 1996 to promote human rights, social justice and eco-justice through research, community education and advocacy. The ERC has identified three priority areas of focus: Indigenous peoples and Reconciliation, refugees and people seeking asylum, and Pacific Islander peoples affected by climate change.

The Pacific Calling Partnership (PCP) is an ERC initiative founded in 2006 and works with Pacific Island nations and the Pacific Islander diaspora in Australia to help ensure that the authentic voices of Pacific Islander communities on climate change are heard on the Australian and international stage. Our objective is for industrialised nations to take heed of their moral obligations and assume their responsibilities for the impact of greenhouse gases on Pacific Islander communities. The PCP is committed to climate justice. We listen to what Pacific Islanders are saying about imminent threats to their way of life and collaborate with them to pass on their stories and messages.
