Central and Eastern Sydney PHN (CESPHN) is a not-for-profit regionally based primary health care organisation. Our region stretches from Strathfield to Sutherland, as far east as Bondi, and also includes Lord Howe Island. Our vision is better health and wellbeing of the people who live and work in our region. We work at the system level to improve the integration of care. We work at the service level to improve practice in primary health care and commission local health and wellbeing services that meet local needs.

We are looking for an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to lead our Marketing and Communications team. This role will provide guidance to CESPHN management and staff on industry best practice, ensuring all marketing and communications activities support the organisation’s vision, goals, values and strategic direction.

This is a 14-month parental leave contract. The ideal candidate will have experience in external and internal communications and in leading successful teams. It is a full-time role, with a proposed start date of 20 June 2022 and an end date of 8 September 2023.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement CESPHN’s marketing and communications strategy
  • Manage all elements of the CESPHN brand including the website, social media channels, public relations, presentations, video marketing, email marketing campaigns and development of newsletters and other marketing collateral
  • Internal communications across CESPHN
  • Team management (this role has three direct reports)

Selection criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or significant industry experience in communications, marketing, public relations and project management
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to allocate work and provide supervision to ensure KPIs are met across the team
  • Organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritise competing demands
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in managing organisational reputation and culture
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office based computing programs e.g. Excel, Word, Database, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Experience developing content for and working with print, online and social media.
  • Knowledge of email marketing platforms e.g. Campaign Monitor, MailChimp.
