Electric Vehicle Council

The electric vehicle revolution will massively reduce carbon pollution, unlock billions of dollars of economic gains, and save thousands of lives a year by reducing noxious pollution. That’s where you come in.

You’re a great organiser, have a strong attention for detail, and a knack for creating processes to make things run more smoothly. You like working with people, show initiative and don’t hesitate to help where and when it’s needed. Join our small team leading Australia’s transition to sustainable transport. You’ll be our first point of contact, help people keep in touch with us and us with them, support the organisation and importantly the team too, giving you lots of opportunity to learn and develop.

The job description below is a guide to what we’re looking for, if you’re unsure whether you meet the criteria and have the drive to contribute anyway, get in touch and let us know why.

ABOUT US

The Electric Vehicle Council is the national body representing the electric vehicle industry in Australia.

Our mission is to accelerate the electrification of transport for a sustainable and prosperous Australia. Our primary role is to develop and advocate effective policy. Our members are companies that build, power, and support electric vehicles.

We are a not-for-profit association based in Sydney, with staff in Melbourne and Brisbane, operating nationally.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The key objectives for this role:

  • Manage the office administration including phone calls, emails, membership enquiries, accounts receivable and website updates
  • Support the team in their roles, including by organising events, taking minutes, hosting and scheduling meetings.
  • Drafting communications including our member newsletter, articles, content for reports and social media, proofreading.
  • Help organise and attend events, learn about the electric vehicle agenda in Australia, engage with members and stakeholders in a professional and helpful manner.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Strong interest in the Council’s mission to accelerate the shift to sustainable transport
  • Experience managing organisation and team administrative functions, including building and communicating processes to manage workflow
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Mailchimp, Zoom, Teams, Slack, Canva, Salesforce, WordPress (you don’t have to have experience with all of these things, but know how to learn to use them effectively)
  • The ability to learn quickly
  • The drive and self-management required to work in a small, resourceful, and fast-moving team.
  • Social media, graphic design, or content creation experience is a plus

If some of these criteria speak to you, we’d love to receive your application. Formal education and experience is less important to us than drive and talent.

WORKING TOGETHER

Salary range: $60,000-$70,000 per annum (pro-rata) + superannuation, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Based in Sydney CBD, this role may suit candidates seeking full-time, part-time or casual work. We are keen to provide flexible working arrangements, especially for those with caring responsibilities.

Working from home is an option we all use, but ideally, we would spend some time together in the office as you settle in.

We believe that the Council will be stronger for having a diversity of backgrounds and experience. We encourage applicants from a diversity of genders, cultures, abilities and experiences to apply.
