ABOUT US

The Electric Vehicle Council is the national body representing the electric vehicle industry in Australia.

Our mission is to accelerate the electrification of transport for a sustainable and prosperous Australia. Our members are companies that build, power, and support electric vehicles.

We are a not-for-profit association based in Sydney, with staff in Melbourne and Brisbane, operating nationally.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The key objectives for this role:

  • Undertake analysis of data related to EVs and EV charging and produce actionable and insightful reports based on the analysis. Examples could include projected impacts on the electricity networks of EV uptake, lifecycle comparative CO2 analysis in an Australian context.
  • Undertake data-driven review and design work to support and justify policy regulatory and standards reform, where reform is needed to support EV uptake. Examples include building codes, Australian Standards, Service and Installation Rules, electricity tariff structures.
  • Develop guidance literature to support the industry to develop best practice standards. Examples include rules around the sale of electricity for EV charging, determination of maximum demand in electrical installations, compliance requirements for importers to meet with respect to EV charging equipment, intersections/overlaps of federal and state policies and regulations.
  • Support and manage ongoing programs that the EVC is responsible for delivering.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • A strong understanding of the electrical industry, including technical skills, experience with standards and regulations.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Ability to translate data analysis work into clear communication pieces for a non-technical audience.
  • The ability to learn quickly.
  • The drive and self-management required to work in a small, resourceful, and fast-moving team.
  • A strong interest in the Council’s mission to accelerate the shift to sustainable transport

WORKING TOGETHER

Salary range: $80,000-$90,000 per annum (pro-rata) + superannuation, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Based in either Brunswick in Melbourne, or the CBD in Sydney, but willing to consider candidates from anywhere in Australia.

This role may suit candidates seeking full-time or part-time work. We are keen to provide flexible working arrangements, especially for those with caring responsibilities.

Working from home is an option we all use, but ideally, we would spend some time together in the office as you settle in.
