Reporting to the Manager, Families & Education, the Project Lead - Digital Health is responsible for leading the development and delivery of Emerging Minds Digital Health projects and activities for families. The Project Lead - Digital Health will work together and in close collaboration with family members, researchers, digital health stakeholders and professionals to design and deliver National Mental Health promotion projects and activities that seek to improve child mental health literacy in families.

Key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating across the National Workforce Centre for Child Mental Health portfolio with high levels of independence and accountability to ensure achievement of program outcomes within contract timelines and budget constraints.
  • Providing expert consultancy and knowledge from key areas of expertise to inform the development of digital health products and resources.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to provide integrated and coordinated digital health support to children, parents and families to improve mental health and resilience.
  • Collaborating with Emerging Minds teams to identify and implement opportunities for the integration of digital health tools and resources into workforce education, communications and organisational support strategies.
  • Developing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with people with lived experience, their families, carers, key stakeholders and members of the community to ensure that their experience is included in the development of projects and activities.
  • Working with and building partnerships with health professionals with the purpose of developing digital health tools and resources that can be incorporated into current practices to support the mental health and resilience of infants, children and families.

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • An appropriate degree level qualification in health, behavioural or social sciences.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with infants, children and parents.
  • Demonstrated experience in a child mental health or child health and development role, and an understanding of practice strategies to improve child mental health and resilience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of capacity building activities in relation to the mental health of infants, children and their families.
  • Experience in facilitating training and education through the principles of adult learning and expectations of accrediting professional bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality consultancy and advisory services to management, staff and external bodies and to establish and maintain both integrity and confidentiality in dealing with issues of a sensitive nature.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mental health promotion, mental illness prevention, early intervention and treatment as it relates to infants, children, adolescence and families.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of adult problems on parenting and the mental health outcomes for infants and children (0-12 years).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and accomplishing the objectives of complex project/s utilising high levels of initiative.
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement and implementation to support practice change.

Special conditions:

  • This position may require intra/interstate travel which may necessitate overnight absences (subject to COVID-19 restrictions and Government health advice).
  • A current National Police Certificate and Working with Children Check are required.
  • This is a fixed term contract position (0.8 - 1.0 FTE) until 30 June 2023.
  • This position is subject to a 6-month probationary period.

Salary and Benefits

A salary of $104,893 per annum (adjusted to hours worked), salary packaging and entertainment packaging is available. Additional Employer Superannuation Contribution of 3%.
