Our Client, Mercy Services, provides holistic and proactive community and in-home support across various parts of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Lower Hunter region, as well as a residential aged care facility in Singleton. Their vision is to be a leading provider of compassionate care and quality services, excelling in the delivery, management and measurement of service and quality, and implementers of innovative and integrated care delivery models.

With significant change needed within aged care sector in the years ahead, the inspiring & strategically thinking MS CEO is seeking to appoint a person with the drive and determination to make changes based on providing exceptional care and safeguarding to their clients. The strategies MS have in place to ensure their vision is achieved includes additional appointments and implementations which the successful candidate would oversee, and include:

  • Established and successful Care Worker training program, with a twice-yearly intake
  • Team of experienced Community Registered Nurses and a graduate nurse program
  • Nurse Practitioner, Aged Care
  • Deployment of new software system in the next 6 months
  • New care plan and referral system being introduce in the next 6 months to better meet the growing needs of their clients
  • Three Day Centres with experienced teams

It is an incredibly exciting phase for the organisation, and you would need to be an experienced people manager from either the aged care, disability, health or community services sector, who can work closely with the CEO to implement the strategies required to meet future challenges.

You will have autonomy in this career defining role but will have the support from a strong, engaged and seasoned leadership team. You will have the ability to leave your mark and contribute to the development of an unparalleled level of home & community care within the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley community.

Reporting to the MS CEO, and based in Cameron Park (Newcastle), the Head of Home & Community Care will be responsible to effectively manage human, material and financial resources ensuring compliance with the Aged and Disability Care standards, in line with Mercy Services strategic plan and business model.

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

Significant management experience from within the aged care, disability, Health or Community Services sector.

Proven strong leadership capabilities and the ability to communicate effectively and harmoniously at all levels.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualification relevant to Care Management, Health or Aged Care.
  • Preferably a qualified clinician e.g., nurse
  • Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Professional Membership
  • Experience using databases in Aged Care & Disability Services.
