Pintupi Homelands Health Service (PHHS) is an expanding and well equipped AGPAL accredited primary healthcare facility located in Kintore. Servicing a close knit community of 450, the health service provides clinical services with a dedicated staff of nurses, health promotion officers, Aboriginal Health Workers, a doctor and support staff.
Emphasis is being placed on preventive health and community involvement in a commitment "to close the gap" and improve the health and well-being of the Kintore community.
PHHS now has an exciting opportunity for two Aged Care Coordinators to join their team in Kintore, NT. This is a shared role, one month on, one month off.
Reporting to the Health Service Manager, your key responsibilities will be to plan and coordinate Aged Care services and the School Nutrition Program to ensure the delivery of high quality, culturally safe, and appropriate care to our clientele.

To be successful in this role you will hold a bachelor's qualification in nursing, and be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a registered nurse.
An excellent communicator, you will have well developed interpersonal skills including the ability to build effective working relationships across a variety of stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of the Aged Care Standards Framework, and have the proven ability to develop staff, foster teamwork and effectively work as a team member whilst providing leadership to the Aged Care support team.
You will also be required to be an empathetic individual and have strong experience and skills in cross cultural team work and indigenous culture.
Please Note: A current manual Driver's Licence, OCHRE Card and a national police check will be required prior to commencing in this role.

Kintore is located in the Northern Territory, some 530 kilometres west of Alice Springs. This remote part of Outback Australia is truly beautiful and is a popular destination for 4WD and trekking enthusiasts. Kintore has a school (Walungurru School), college (high school and adult), child care centre, church, store, airstrip, health clinic, police station and a swimming pool.
Kintore is also a major centre for the Western Desert art movement which began at the community of Papunya. The Pintupi people traditionally pass on significant Dreamtime stories by way of art using sand, rock and local plants and today, canvas paintings from the Kintore region have gained international acclaim.
