About the Opportunity

Anglicare Central Queensland is looking for a Residential Care Manager to join their close-knit and supportive team on a full-time basis.

Working out of either Rockhampton or Gladstone & reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, your key responsibilities will be to provide leadership and support to Anglicare's residential care teams, manage human resources, continually improve the quality of service delivery to participants to ensure governance and contractual compliance and risk management.

More specifically, your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Leading, managing and overseeing the Residential Care Services across the geographical locations;
  • Collaborating in the development of a participant engagement strategy and implementation plan contributing to the organisational stakeholder engagement plan;
  • Maintaining control of income and expenditure of the program funds and managing the financial operations of the portfolio to meet accountability requirements; and
  • Building and maintaining close liaison with stakeholders particularly relevant government agencies and personnel in order to sustain effective and collaborative working relationships.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be required to have a tertiary qualification in social or behavioural sciences, with a focus in social work, psychology or a related discipline and/or proven experience in the area of residential care and child protection.

Demonstrated experience in a managerial level is paramount.

You will need to be a proactive and dedicated child protection professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

This role requires a high level of care, empathy, resilience and initiative in conjunction with outstanding leadership skills and a desire to work with the direction of the organisation. Solid leadership skills will allow you to build, nurture and develop strong teams while taking charge of their future direction and ensuring the team is operating to its fullest potential.

You will be a serious child protection professional who is able to work in the day-to-day operations as well as be able to drive and impact big picture projects and ideas across the residential care portfolio.

Please note: As Anglicare Central Queensland is a Child Safe Organisation and NDIS registered service provider, preferred applicants will be required to hold a Blue Card, a Yellow Card/exemption notice as well as a Child Safety and Personal History Screening prior to commencement.
