About the Opportunity

Anglicare Central Queensland now has a full-time opportunity for a Youth Mental Health Co-ordinator in Emerald, QLD.

You will be primarily responsible for ensuring that day-to-day clinical work is carried out to effectively meet the needs of young people and their families and friends.

More specifically, your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Supervising clinical staff, assisting with professional development and monitoring staff compliance and adherence to scope of practice;
  • Monitoring and leading the ongoing delivery and improvement of evidence-based care to young people;
  • Providing leadership to headspace clinicians and Private Practitioners in the delivery of mental health care to young people; and
  • Being responsible for carrying a caseload of 3-5 young people

The town has a rich history and has blossomed today into the major regional centre of the Central Highlands and the gateway to the Central Western District. The area boasts several areas of natural beauty nearby including some of the largest sapphire gem fields in the world. This tight knit community offers the type of lifestyle one typically envisions when thinking of a rural township.

About You

To be considered for this role it is essential that you possess a tertiary level qualification in one of the following allied health disciplines: social work, psychology, mental health nursing, and/or occupational therapy with significant working experience and AHPRA or AASW registration. It is imperative in this position that you a good foundational knowledge of case conceptualisation, including treatment planning and case formulation.

Whilst not a requirement, previous leadership experience will be highly regarded.

The successful candidate will have effective written and verbal communication skills, allowing them to build and maintain effective relationships with team members and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role a high level of empathy, resilience and initiative in conjunction with outstanding leadership skills and a desire to work with the direction of the organisation. Solid leadership skills will allow you to build, nurture and develop strong teams while taking charge of their future direction and ensuring the team is operating to its fullest potential.

Please note: As Anglicare Central Queensland is a Child Safe Organisation and NDIS registered service provider, preferred applicants will be required to hold a Blue Card as well as a Yellow Card/exemption notice prior to commencement.
