Eastern Palliative Care Inc (EPC) is the specialist community based palliative care service for the Eastern Region of Melbourne. We support people with a terminal / life limiting illness who have complex symptoms whether they be physical, psychosocial, emotional or spiritual.

About the role and you – New Year, New Role!!

Leading a clinical team of Specialist Family Support Workers, you are experienced in working in an interdisciplinary team, have knowledge of current loss, grief and bereavement theory and practice, experience in Palliative Care or a community health setting and are experienced with issues associated with death and dying.

Reporting to the Manager-Allied Health, the Family Support Consultant will provide clinical leadership, case-load supervision and mentoring to all Allied Health Workers within the team and includes the provision of discipline specific psycho-social support, spiritual and pastoral care to clients and their carers within an interdisciplinary team model.

Working closely with geographic Family Support Consultants to ensure accurate prioritisation of clients and excellence in clients care and support, your previous experience in a leadership position that included the provision of clinical supervision, will ensure you will positively lead this newly combined team and provide mentoring and guidance to colleagues.

We are looking for a Clinical team Leader who:

  • Holds a mandatory relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology, or a bachelor of Theology/Pastoral Care and minimum 2 Units of CPE.
  • Has demonstrated capability, including a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership position that included the provision of clinical supervision.
  • Has experience and skills in the leadership and supervision of a multi-disciplinary care team and are able to lead workplace culture and change management where required
  • Has a membership or registration to relevant professional bodies
  • Is an experienced communicator with competent oral and written communication skills, report writing and presentation skills
  • Has highly develop interpersonal and organisational skills, emotionally attuned leadership and is experienced in the provision of supervision
  • Holds a Current Victorian Driver’s Licence, good driving record and willingness to use own vehicle.
