THE ROLE:

EPIS seeks a dynamic support worker to join the East Pilbara Independence Support (EPIS) team in Marble Bar. We have an exceptional opportunity for a support worker to provide aged care and disability support services to the communities of Marble Bar and Warralong.

The position is full-time.

  • Salary of $72,124 per year ($36.50 per hour)

EPIS provides person-centred care by delivering services based upon understanding and assisting clients to live and achieve an appropriate degree of independence according to their own abilities, specific needs, and family and community support.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Diverse duties in line with providing support to help enable clients to achieve their goals
  • Support clients with domestic assistance, personal care, individual support, and social group support
  • Run a small Day Centre including the transport service
  • Support Clients to access their community, build relationships, engage with activities of their choice, attend appointments and access amenities

YOUR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE WILL BE ASSURED BY HAVING:

  • Excellent understanding of the life challenges and barriers for Indigenous Australians
  • Experience in working with Indigenous peoples in a community setting.
  • Good level of clinical problem-solving skills
  • Friendly and caring nature person with cheerful attitude
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Excellent computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and Database Systems
  • Possess a current WA Drivers Licence, PTD authorisation and ability to drive a 4WD
  • Experience in the Aged Care Sector and / or Not-for-Profit environment (Desirable)
  • Certificate III in Aged Care/Disability (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Police Clearance, NDIS Screening Check and proof of full COVID-19 and influenza vaccination
  • Current CPR/First Aid
