Awareness & Engagement Specialist

Epilepsy Queensland

We are embarking on the most significant change in our 50-year history. The goal is to reach more of 30,000 Queenslanders who live with epilepsy and to support the 3,000 new diagnoses every year. This is the time to be #brave and join our team.

With an overarching aim to be #transparent with our stakeholders about how they impact our work this role is responsible for designing and executing an integrated communications strategy that brings to life our community awareness campaigns and integrates all marketing and communications needs from across the organisation.

Offered initially on a 0.8FTE basis, success in this role looks like this for us:

  • Our brand is well recognised and trusted as the single source of information and support for people with epilepsy in Queensland
  • An integrated plan starts with awareness objectives and meets the needs of all functions of the organisation
  • Our service delivery programs are fully subscribed in response to a services marketing strategy
  • Fundraising campaigns meet or exceed targets in response to an integrated communications and awareness strategy
  • Our audience is growing in response to an effective communication plan
  • We can articulate specific calls to action for Community Awareness, Fundraising and Services programs within each campaign activity
  • We have an effective suite of external marketing collateral including website, social media, video, brochures, fact sheets and reports
  • The media is actively engaged in our message and the awareness of epilepsy and its impact and seeks us out for comment
  • Our stakeholders are engaged in our work, continually educated and provided with contemporary information via channels that reach a broad audience.
  • Contribution to the organisation is valued by all staff and the team is cohesive, united and brave

That's a lot right! You will need to be #agile in your approach and have a passion for mass communication programs to drive awareness. You may come from a Health Promotion / Communications background or you might have achieved your success elsewhere and want to apply it to a really good cause!

Awareness, engagement and impact will be your mantra and you will be well supported by a leadership team that want you and this program to be successful. A good eye for design and the ability to prepare a creative brief would be the cream on top!
