ABOUT EQUALITY SUPPORT

eQuality Support is an independent, NDIS disability services provider. We have two offices, one in Torquay and one in Ballarat. We're looking for passionate Disability Support Workers to join our friendly teams in Geelong and Ballarat.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role supports people to live independently at home, so they can meaningfully complete their daily routines and activities both inside and outside of the home.

A commitment of 25+ hours per week is needed, including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers. You can block out when you are not able to work, and accept shifts assigned to you from a roster. Most shifts are 8 hours in duration and you work with one client for the whole shift.

Your work is based in a client house or purpose-built Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes. Some of the SIL houses are brand new, 6-star energy townhouses, very modern and nice to work in. 

WHAT A NORMAL DAY WOULD LOOK LIKE

  • Understand the needs, goals, and daily activities of clients.
  • Use positive reinforcement and other techniques to support clients in their daily routines.
  • Develop meaningful and professional relationships with clients and families.
  • Assist with all manual handling and toileting, showers, meals, medication, grooming, cleaning, and other tasks as required.
  • Support daily planning, advocacy, communication, and transport in community settings.

EXPERIENCE - ABOUT YOU

  • You'll have relevant experience supporting the well-being and inclusion of people with disability.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, particularly active listening.
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the role, including manual handling, lifting, bending, stretching, and physical transfer.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

A minimum certificate III, diploma or qualification in disability or relevant area such as aged care, community services, or health is required. We encourage students from these areas to apply.
