ESE Consulting is excited to be partnering with Bendigo Sustainability Group to recruit a Project Manager to their dynamic team.

About the Project:

You will be responsible for coordinating local stakeholders to develop and deliver community energy projects to support the state’s transition to renewable energy.

The Program’s objectives are to:

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Increase installed renewable energy capacity.
  • Increase community support for renewable energy and other clean energy initiatives.
  • Reduce energy costs for households, small businesses, and community services.

About the Role:

You will lead a team to coordinate relevant stakeholders from across the Loddon Mallee region to support, develop and deliver community renewable energy projects that are socially acceptable, financially feasible and technically viable.

The requirements of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and fulfil the requirements of the Contract between Sustainability Victoria and the Bendigo Sustainability Group including coordinating and providing required reporting.
  • Complete and maintain a Project Plan and Project Budget and oversee delivery.
  • Manage approximately three Project Officers as well as other contractors, and consultants.
  • Attend regular project update meetings (online or in person) and participate in quarterly network meetings, capacity building sessions.
  • Work with project partners and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach and equitable spread of support for community energy groups and projects across the region.
  • Support a collective of groups and organisations to identify and develop community energy projects across the Loddon Mallee region.
  • Prepare and provide quarterly and other project reports.
  • Assist in the delivery of five implementation ready projects, ensuring that they are commissioned and operational by 31 December 2021.

About You:

  • Past management of complex projects is essential (ideally community-based).
  • Experience with management of staff, contractors, and consultants.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Organised, able to work under pressure and able to meet deadlines.
  • A current drivers licence applicable within Victoria is required as is access to a reliable car. Regular travel throughout the Loddon Mallee Region and to Melbourne will be required.
  • Technical experience in the energy / renewable energy industry and analysis of the benefits of solar PV for sites will be viewed favourably.
