<h3>Role</h3>
This role is responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in all areas of managing the finance function. Specific responsibilities include:
<ul>
<li>Maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts</li>
<li>Processing of invoices and payments</li>
<li>Processing of receipts</li>
<li>Processing of payroll</li>
<li>Preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements and FBT Returns</li>
<li>Assisting in the preparation of management and statutory reports</li>
<li>Providing support to the internal and external audit programs and to continuously improving the ETU&rsquo;s accounting and control environment</li>
</ul>

<h3>Responsibilities and Duties</h3>
Accounting:
<ul>
<li>Maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts</li>
<li>Processing of invoices and payments (ETU use ProSpend for all invoices and expenses)</li>
<li>Processing of receipts</li>
<li>Processing of payroll</li>
<li>Processing of member payment batches</li>
</ul>
Financial Reporting:
<ul>
<li>Provide support and assistance to the Finance Manager in the preparation of management statutory and regulatory accounting and financial reports.</li>
<li>Assist the Finance Manager in preparing the annual Budget and in monitoring performance of Budget vs Actuals.</li>
</ul>
Internal Control:
<ul>
<li>Document, maintain and continuously improve accounting and control procedures.</li>
<li>Assist the Finance Manager with the external and internal audit programs and implementation of audit findings as required.</li>
<li>Assist the Finance Manager to enhance financial systems, processes and practices through continuous improvement and innovation.</li>
</ul>
Other:
<ul>
<li>Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements</li>
<li>Prepare information for FBT Returns</li>
<li>Manage ETU credit cards including organising authorisation of expenditure,</li>
<li>Manage motor vehicle administration consistent with the ETU&rsquo;s Motor Vehicle Policy.</li>
<li>Undertake other duties as requested.</li>
<li>Act as primary backup to the Finance Manager when required.</li>
<li>Perform duties in a manner that ensures peoples&rsquo; health, wellbeing and safety.</li>
<li>Identify and communicate key risks, ensure that risk management processes are followed and that risk management is embedded in the processes for which the position is responsible.</li>
<li>Ad hoc project work to improve/streamline finance functions and duties.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications, Experience and Capabilities</h3>
Qualifications Essential / Desirable:
<ul>
<li>Tertiary qualifications in Accounting &ndash; Essential</li>
<li>Professional membership with CPA/CA or equivalent - Essential</li>
</ul>
Experience / Knowledge and Skills:
Accounting:
<ul>
<li>Five years + experience in management or statutory accounting and reporting.</li>
<li>Experience or understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions.</li>
<li>Knowledge of financial governance and control practices and requirements.</li>
</ul>
Financial Systems:
<ul>
<li>Excellent working knowledge of MYOB or similar accounting system.</li>
<li>Excellent working knowledge of Excel (Medium/Advanced Skills). Experience with Power BI would be highly regarded</li>
</ul>
