Reconciliation Victoria is the statewide body promoting reconciliation across Victoria, actively promoting a deeper understanding, respect and justice for and with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Our work is guided by local Aboriginal voices to effect change across a broad mandate.
The role of CEO ensures the vision to create a Victorian identity that reflects our true history, promoting and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, equity and self-determination is realised.
Reporting to the Board, you will be responsible for:
- Developing, implementing and delivering the Strategic Plan and operational priorities
- Guiding advocacy and policy agenda & activities
- Strengthening organisation's connection with community & key stakeholders
- Providing financial and budgetary oversight and reporting
- Identifying opportunities and developing future growth & sustainability initiatives
- Managing current funding contracts, including negotiation and re-negotiation
- Representing the organisation in various media and public forums
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and communities
- Demonstrated senior management and leadership experience
- A thorough knowledge of the reconciliation agenda and the Victorian context
- The ability to secure and grow the financial base
- The ability to develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders
You will also have strong influence and communication skills, demonstrate strong leadership and people management capabilities and be a strategic thinker with effective advocacy skills.
