ENGAGE THE NEXT GENERATION ON FOOD INSECURITY AND FOOD WASTE.

FareShare rescues food that would otherwise go to waste and cooks it into nutritious meals for people in need.

We operate Australia’s largest charity kitchens, cooking thousands of free meals every day in Melbourne and Brisbane. Our meals are provided to front line charities including homeless shelters, soup vans, women’s refuges, disadvantaged schools and community food banks.

FareShare’s Schools in the Kitchen program provides a unique opportunity for secondary students to learn about the reality of hunger in our community and begin their own response through cooking in our Melbourne kitchen.

We are seeking a part-time Schools Program Coordinator to oversee the management and marketing of this popular program which operates Monday-Thursdays mornings during term-time. This role is a 12 month contract from January 2022.

The role sits within our Community Team and requires excellent communications and relationship skills, a knowledge of the education sector and proven organisational skills. Reporting to the Manager, Volunteer Programs, the position is based at our Abbotsford kitchen.

An inspiring working environment and generous PBI benefits on offer.

Our ideal candidate will have outstanding communication and people skills. A strong background in administration will also enhance your success in the role. A knowledge of and interest in secondary school curriculum and the education sector will also be valuable. In previous roles, you will have demonstrated your ability to use initiative, manage time efficiently, and to organise and prioritise your workload. You will need strong computer skills (particularly in MS Office) and will have experience using databases and CRM tools. Experience with Salesforce will be well regarded.
