The Fire Brigade Employees’ Union (FBEU) is seeking applicants for the role of Organiser.
The FBEU represents professional firefighters in NSW. We are a high-density union with a proud, militant history and culture and a highly democratic structure. FBEU Members work in diverse jobs and face a variety of industrial challenges.
We are led by a State Committee of Management and we employ a small team to support members and the work of the union.
We are a high-density union and so organising is a bit different at the FBEU. Your work will be dynamic and responsive to the decisions of the leadership and membership of the union. You will be part of a team working on an overarching organising plan. Supporting elected officials to carrying out the work of the union and building union power will be central to your role.
You will be part of a team that carries out the work of organising and campaigns, building and maintaining delegate structures, online organising, member events and actions, supporting elected leaders in their roles, and working with members around collective issues to win.
The union operates in line with its rules and our work is driven by the decision making of members.
You will work as part of a team who are passionate unionists. We value the role of delivering the work as decided by the members through the structures of the union.
