ABOUT YOU

You will be a self-starter with an eye for detail, working across multiple platforms and databases you will thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be flexible and happy to jump on new opportunities when they present themselves, as well as happy to help with ad hoc requests as needed. Working at events will keep things interesting for you as much as picking up the phone and having a chat with our fundraisers. You won’t shy away from sometimes difficult conversations but have the ability and motivation to be persuasive and provide our fundraisers with guidance. You will be a communications expert, across both verbal and written mediums. You will be a creative thinker and enjoy working across social media platforms (in particular Facebook).

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Senior Community Partnerships Executive, the Community Partnerships Coordinator is accountable for ensuring a high standard of support within the Community Fundraising and wider Philanthropy and Government Affairs team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to and manage a wide portfolio of Community Fundraising supporters for The Foundation
  • Assist with fundraising communications to generate significant income and maximise the participant and supporter experience
  • Lead on and develop the digital and social media marketing of community fundraising initiatives and support the implementation for Fred’s Big Run and Sydney Harbour Hike
  • Work closely with the wider Partnerships team to identify opportunities for sponsorship and other partnerships linked to key community fundraising events such as Fred’s Big Run
  • Collaborate closely with the Communications and Brand team to develop media and ambassador opportunities for Community Fundraising
  • Work with colleagues in other international markets to support community fundraising initiatives and provide support and guidance where necessary

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, in particular Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Willingness to travel to assist with events
  • Understanding of online fundraising and experience working with databases
  • Knowledge of fundraising practices and regulations within Australia
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Comfortable on the phone and speaking with a range of stakeholders
  • Motivated and a ‘can do’ attitude, with a problem-solving approach to work
  • Strong time management skills
  • Comfortable working across different platforms and using and able to pick up new technologies
  • Ideally you will have some experience with fundraising (advantages but not necessary)
