Work with a diverse team of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to improve eye health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. About the position

Reporting to the Country Manager, the Operations Manager is accountable for leading the development and implementation of effective office operation and contract management for the indigenous Australia Program in alignment with The Foundation’s strategic framework. To do this role effectively you will:

  • Lead the Operations Team to ensure a high standard of employee engagement and productivity in line with planned objectives, supporting the performance goals of all direct reports
  • Ensure the effective management of the division’s resources (human, financial, technical and operational)
  • Manage the Indigenous Australia Program’s Partner contracts, quarterly financial and progress reports and due diligence processes
  • Work in collaboration with the Programs Manager and Senior Program Officers to support effective monitoring of Partners
  • Work closely with the Country Support Network to ensure effective management of the Indigenous Australia Program’s financial requirements, including the preparation of financial reports, statement of accounts and financial audit as requested, provide analysis and advice on the reports to the team
  • Establish and implement procedures to ensure effective internal control and risk management and provide accurate reporting in line The Foundation’s requirements
  • Collaborate across the Country and Global teams and with Partners in all finance and operations processes, and in particular with budget preparation and monitoring, and provide advice to improve operational and finance outcomes.
  • Support the continuous risk analysis to identify and manage key financial and compliance risks impacting the Indigenous Australia Program and ensure appropriate controls are in place to mitigate any risk

The successful applicant will have

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to build the capacity of team members, while managing competing deadlines
  • Proven experience in program operations or a senior management coordinator role
  • Strong capability to lead a team using feedback to build capacity and achieve outcomes
  • Experience of working effectively within a diverse environment
  • The skills to build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, while exercising very strong influencing and negotiation skills
