FIA advocates for the charitable fundraising sector on behalf of its members and their interests. 

The role

As a training institute the role of Manager, Professional Education a critical and exciting role for FIA. Reporting to the FIA CEO, it is the manager of our highly-regarded training and education program and the visionary project leader for our exciting new phase in the development of continuing professional development requirements for members.  

Key areas of responsibility

  • Manage the development of professional education courses, along with implementation, delivery, evaluation and support for continuing professional development.
  • Update existing and develop new education and professional development products and pathways to support the advancement of fundraising as a career
  • Manage and maintain partner and supplier relationships related to education and professional development services
  • Manage research and development projects in relation to evidence-based knowledge advancement in fundraising
  • Assist in the provision of member services related to careers and professional development 
  • Manage one full-time education coordinator in the delivery of courses and other education and training programs and a contract learning design resource.

Requirements for success:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing standards and competency-based training programs.
  • Minimum 5 years education management experience with budget management and education resourcing experience.
  • Well-developed business development and relationship management skills in an association or industry education context
  • Proven project management experience to manage multiple deliverables and timeframes on a range of projects and with minimal supervision 
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and course authoring tools.
  • High-level administrative and organisational abilities. 
  • Demonstrated intermediate MS Office skills (especially Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of course authoring tools 
  • Fundraising/charitable sector awareness/knowledge desirable
