Position Overview:

FightMND’s Care vision is to invest to improve the lives of people with MND in Australia. There are three pillars underpinning this vision:

  • Investing in a program of Care research
  • Investing in the development of Standards for Care for people with MND
  • Investing in a range of areas to support people living with MND

Reporting to the Care Director, the Care Grants Program Manager focuses on establishing and managing the Care grants program in line with FightMND’s Care strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Establishment of the Care Grants program

  • In line with the Care Strategy, establishing a best-practice grants program in line with industry standards, ready for launch in Q3 2022, including
    • Developing plans and timelines, and project managing the establishment of the program
    • Defining grant criteria, protocols and guidelines
    • Developing grant systems and processes, including
      • Review and evaluation approaches
      • Relevant tools and template
      • The customisation of Fluxx grant management software
      • Coaching and inducting relevant FightMND team members into relevant processes as appropriate.

Managing the annual Care Grants program

  • Overseeing the inaugural grant program, including the review, evaluation and awarding of grants
  • Managing the annual Care grant program
  • Improving the systems and processes supporting the grants programs
  • Liaising with stakeholders regarding the operational aspects of the program, including execution of relevant communications

Reporting and Analysis

  • Providing regular reporting on value, progress and outcomes of grant disbursements

Other

  • Other activities as required

Experience:

  • Experience in establishing and overseeing a best-practice philanthropic grant program in a relevant sector
  • Knowledge and understanding of the MND Care or relevant sector in Australia and internationally an advantage
  • Understanding / experience of Care-related research an advantage
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
