The program

The Family Safety and Wellbeing Program delivers a range of specialist family violence services including men's behaviour change program’s (MBCP), Dad’s in Focus (DiF) and women and children's counselling services. The program also delivers community based mental health support services for children, young people and families. Early mental health support is also provided in a number of different languages to best support culturally diverse families. All services are delivered under the umbrella of a trauma informed practice framework and the overall aim of the role is to contribute to service excellence.

The position

The Practice Leader Family Safety and Wellbeing is a Full Time, Permanent position based primarily at our Sandringham site, however is required to work from our other sites as needed. The position plays a key role in leading, developing and integrating Family Safety and Wellbeing Services across the organisation and ensuring best practice in responding to clients and vulnerable children.

A day in the life of this position includes:

  • Providing clinical supervision to Practitioners, including peer supervision and supporting case planning, monitoring and review.

  • Contributing to the organisational Clinical Practice Framework and participating in complex case panels.

  • Working closely with Team Leaders to support them in their oversight of streamlined service delivery, appropriate maintenance of caseloads, demand management, integrated practice and cultural competence.

  • Supporting Team Leaders to provide induction and training for practitioners, including the use of Client Management Systems (CSNet) and monitoring the quality of data entry.

  • Meeting with internal and external stakeholders to ensure best practice and quality services are provided to clients.

  • Remaining up to date with evidence based practice models within the broader context of evidence informed practice, and implementing best practice approaches within Family Safety and Wellbeing.
