Yallambee Traralgon Village for the Aged Inc. is a community base Not-For-Profit service, offering Margery Cole, a residential aged care facility and an Independent Living Village. Yallambee is operated under the guidance of a voluntary Board of Directors (BOD). The Yallambee Board is committed to the provision of quality care, a home-like environment, the protection and promotion of residents’ rights and to continuous improvement in all areas of endeavour. As a community-based organisation, it seeks to engage the local community in the life and support of residents.
About the Role
As a member of the Executive Team, the Clinical Services Manager reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer/Director of Care (CEO/DOC) and is responsible for full clinical oversight of all aspects of clinical care and services, ensuring an optimal experience for all residents.
Key Competencies
- Ability to support strategic thinking, communicate with influence and advise the CEO/DOC
- Capacity to assist in the development of an operational budget with regard to clinical care, within agreed parameters
- Ability to develop and monitor the effectiveness of clinical care systems and processes and successfully manage change
- Excellent clinical assessment skills and care planning capabilities
- Sound understanding of relevant aged care legislation, aged care standards, accreditation and best practice
- Demonstrated capacity to recruit, manage and motivate staff and to develop innovative staff models within an agreed establishment
- Well-developed understanding of the rights and needs of residents and their families and a demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively with all key stakeholders
- Sound human resource knowledge and people management skills
Key Duties
- Role model Yallambee’s Vision and Values
- Maintain a close working relationship with the BOD by attending Board meetings to assist in achieving strategic outcomes
- Provide comprehensive reports to the Board as required
- Provide advice to the CEO/DOC on matters pertaining to the day to day operations of Yallambee
- Set objectives and long-term goals for the clinical department
- Direct, oversee and evaluate delivery of residential care ensuring compliance with models of care, standards of practice and policies and procedures
- Control clinical budget and monitor expenditure to meet budget parameters
- Manage Clinical procurement
- Promote the highest quality of care and customer experience
- Utilise networking opportunities to liaise with State and Commonwealth Government Departments, peak bodies and industry leaders
- Ensure Yallambee complies with the Accreditation standards relating to clinical care
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Masters in Nursing or Health Administration preferred
- AHPRA Registration
- Minimum 2 years experience in an Executive/Senior management role
- Proven experience in meeting accreditation standards and aged care legislation
- Proven skills in coordinating ACFI appraisals and the maximisation of ACFI funding
- Experience in managing budget allocations
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in building strong teams
