About you

The National Evaluation Manager role is responsible for leading the design, delivery and outcomes of the evaluation function, across the Fellowship Pathways, and Education Services Divisions. The National Evaluation Manager works with and leads the Evaluation Team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement to ensure quality and excellence in RACGP programs, projects, and other strategic initiatives. This role plays a pivotal role in the success of RACGP training standards by ensuring evaluation activities and data are accurate, insightful and timely. You demonstrate proven:

• Experience in developing, implementing and delivering a wide range of evaluation frameworks and instruments.
• Experience in developing and applying innovative evaluation and research methodologies.
• Experience in using evaluation data to analyse and report on impacts, outcomes and programs (e.g. descriptive and inferential quantitative analyses, text based qualitative analyses, digital visualisation with software like Tableau etc.).
• Experience leading and mentoring a team
• Experience in evaluating quality improvement systems.

The opportunity

The RACGP is currently undertaking a complex transition program to establish its new Profession-Led, Community-Based Training (PLT) capability to train medical doctors in General Practice as a key component of the Department of Health’s Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) Program. The PLT transition is a fundamental change to the delivery of GP training in Australia, providing an opportunity to improve the quality, safety and accessibility of GP services for all Australians.

This transition will build new capabilities from the ground up as well as transfer capabilities from the existing Regional Training Organisations that currently provide AGPT training services. A growing team is in the process of defining, planning and implementing this business transformation program, with a range of inter-related projects in-flight or being established.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop, manage and lead a schedule of evaluation activities across the Fellowship Pathways and Education Services Divisions and other College areas as required;
• Lead the effective and efficient running of Evaluation framework processes and planning to ensure consistent application of delivery standards and processes across areas of the College as required, as well as monitoring the overall program and function performance;
• Manage periodic reviews of RACGP monitoring and evaluation framework and related evaluation plans to ensure suitability for guiding evidence-based review improvements, and maintaining regulatory compliance, across relevant aspects of GP education, training and assessment delivery;
• Design, implement, and refine processes and technology to support RACGP monitoring and evaluation goals (including existing business as usual evaluation programs and projects, and new strategic priorities emerging from the National RACGP Led Training strategy and evaluation agenda);
• Guide and support best practice evaluation data collection, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and reporting of relevance to program / project KPIs and deliverables, quality and evaluation end points;
• Provide strategic review, analysis, reporting, and advice to support decision making across Fellowship Pathways, Education Services, and wider College areas, and present to various decision-making forums as requested.
