Remote / Work from Home
Are you experienced in delivering mentorship and social support programs?
We are seeking a talented Mentorship Support Coordinator, interested in helping to develop and deliver a robust social support program to individuals attending the Generation employment training program. This position will have a focus on supporting our First Nations students and developing culturally relevant resources and support mechanisms. You will work closely with the Mentorship Coordinator and provide leadership and support to other mentors.
This position is only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants.*
You are energised at the thought of supporting people into employment. You have experience delivering mentorship and social support to First Nations people. You have experience developing resources and establishing relationships with community organisations. You have outstanding interpersonal skills and a positive spirit to work closely with participants from diverse backgrounds. You are proactive in evaluating daily interactions with participants and creating long-lasting interventions to ensure their success. Most importantly, you believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to have a meaningful, sustainable career.
Worldwide, more than 75 million young people are unemployed. But many employers can’t find people with the skills they need for entry-level jobs. Generation was created in 2014 to help bridge this gap—at speed and scale.
We’re building a skills-training methodology that can serve hundreds of thousands, and eventually millions, of people a year. And we’re building proof that this training creates real business outcomes for employers, and lasting career impact for trainees—so everyone has the incentive to invest in skills. Our goal is to help our students achieve personal and professional success—and fundamentally change their life trajectories. Generation programs prepare unemployed or underemployed people for jobs in four sectors: healthcare, technology, retail/sales, and skilled trades.
Today, Generation is active in thirteen countries with over 38,000 graduates with diverse social, economic and labour-market contexts.
* The filling of this position is intended to constitute a special/equal opportunity measure under section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth), and the relevant state acts.
