Working as part of a purpose driven organisation, within the gforce Youth Employment Team delivering the Transition to Work Program. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic team making a significant difference to young people 15 – 24 years of age.

The role

You will enjoy the challenge and responsibility of building local employer relationships and networks while placing young people into meaningful, suitable and sustainable employment. You will also promote the program to youth orientated organisations and provide support to employers and young people in employment.

Core duties will include:

• Sourcing and initiating contact with employers for the purpose of exploring employment opportunities relevant to the skill sets, experience, interest and circumstance of each participant who is ready for work.
• Negotiate and broker employment opportunities with employers and industry.
• Promote and provide details on Government incentives to business.
• Providing employment preparation and guidance to young jobseekers prior to interview and upon entering into employment.
• Promote and engage with youth related peak bodies, complementary services and organisations connected to Gforce
• Exploring and initiating work experience, trials and internships with local businesses and employers
• Communicate with employers to obtain feedback on the progression and development of placed participants

Do you have?

• Highly developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• The ability to develop honest and enduring relationships with local employers
• Can demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and drive results to achieve outcomes
• Possess an understanding and knowledge of the barriers young people may face in transitioning into employment
• Sound organisational practices and a confidence in using specific industry software and applications
• A current Drivers Licence is required and you will need to have or be willing to obtain a National Police Clearance and a Working With Children Check
