The role:

As a Senior Work Coach, you will have the opportunity to use your skills and experience to work in our Service division across one or more programs, providing positive coaching and assistance to job seekers and participants in various circumstances and from all walks of life. You will connect our job seekers and participants with jobs or help them to overcome barriers to enable them to gain and sustain ongoing employment.

This full time, 2year contract will initially involve working within our jobactive team. This is a Geelong based role.

The successful applicant will:

  • Effectively manage a caseload of job seekers, developing job plans and goals in accordance with the jobactive guidelines to assist them into employment
  • Strive to achieve excellent results by creating opportunities for our job seekers
  • Prepare job seekers for work through coaching, job search support, training, work experience and other vocational or non-vocational activities to overcome their barriers to employment
  • Identify and promote job seeker skills and refer jobseekers to suitable vacancies
  • Reverse market job seekers to local businesses and organisations
  • Provide post-placement support to jobseekers who have found employment, provide support mechanisms to ensure they thrive in the workplace
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to other team members

Do you have?

  • A ‘can do’ attitude and desire to engage and support jobs seekers and participants with the ability to mentor and coach job seekers to become work ready
  • A desire to create a life changing experience in helping others find meaningful employment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the local labour market
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of common barriers to employment and education
  • A positive attitude with a high standard of professionalism, attention to detail and ability to work effectively and develop positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Experience in case management, employment services, recruitment, sales or a similar background
  • A high attention to detail with strong time management skills to be able to manage a balanced administration workload
  • Demonstrate strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite

You will need to have or be willing to obtain a National Police Clearance and a Working with Children Check.
