OVERVIEW OF ORGANISATION

The Global EverGreening Alliance (The Alliance) is an international NGO which coordinates the development and implementation of massive-scale environmental restoration and sustainable agricultural intensification programs in low to middle-income countries around the world.

The organisation was established by its members to facilitate a collaborative approach to the global problems of food insecurity, rural poverty, climate change and land degradation, and to develop and implement long-term solutions at a globally significant scale.

Its core members include World Vision, CARE International, Oxfam, Catholic Relief Services, Conservation International, The Nature Conservancy, the World Resources Institute and The World Agroforestry Centre.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Global Restoration Monitor (GRM) tracks land restoration through project data from Alliance member organisations. To assist with the expansion of the GRM, we are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to support the collection of project data and increase the user engagement of the platform. The role will be responsible for coordinating the outreach of the GRM and engaging with new and existing stakeholders who are working in land restoration projects. The role will work closely with the team to manage stakeholder relationships, coordinate engagement materials, administrative support and internal documentation.

Salary: $65,000-75,000 plus 10% superannuation, dependent on experience. + option of salary packaging

This is a fixed-term, 1 year position.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE:

  • Strengthening and expanding relationships with Alliance stakeholders
  • Increasing the coverage of the Global Restoration Monitor in terms of stakeholders posting project data and using the platform
  • Working closely with the GRM Project Manager to develop and strengthen relationships with stakeholders engaged in the GRM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Data Collection

  • Initiate and follow up on data collection from members for the Global Restoration Monitor
  • Assist with the coordination and data collection of the Global Restoration Monitor
  • Contribute to the Green Up to Cool Down Campaign.
  • Supporting the implementation of quality assurance of the data

Stakeholder engagement and management

  • Coordinate the outreach of the Global Restoration Monitor
  • Initiate, build and maintain effective working relationships with existing and new stakeholders.
  • Engage with new member organisations.
  • Support the collaboration around similar and complementary platforms with like-minded organisations
  • Explore new opportunities to work together with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the logistics of organizing and delivering engagement activities, including administrative support, and preparation of relevant public-facing engagement materials, and internal materials and documentation.
  • Work closely with the team to manage relationships with stakeholders engaged in the GRM.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent in community development, international development, environment studies
  • Understanding of concepts of ecological restoration and evergreening
  • Understanding of key challenges in data collection and measurement in an international development context, and appreciation of community-led natural resource management development approaches
  • Demonstrated experience in working closely within multidisciplinary teams,
  • Demonstrated experience with stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent communication skillS
  • Experience in working within the environment sector (desirable)

CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT

The Global EverGreening Alliance has zero tolerance to child abuse, discrimination, harassment and workplace bullying.
