OVERVIEW OF ORGANISATION

The Global EverGreening Alliance (The Alliance) is an international NGO which coordinates the development and implementation of massive-scale environmental restoration and sustainable agricultural intensification projects in developing countries around the world.

The organisation was established by its members to facilitate a collaborative approach to the global problems of food insecurity, rural poverty, climate change and land degradation, and to develop and implement long-term solutions at a globally significant scale.

Its core members include World Vision, CARE International, Oxfam, Catholic Relief Services, Conservation International, The Nature Conservancy, the World Resources Institute and The World Agroforestry Centre.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Global EverGreening Alliance is seeking a volunteer videographer that can assist our in-house editors in editing, filming and other applicable aspects of internal and external communications.

HOURS & FREQUENCY OF WORK:

Applicants should be able to volunteer for 15 hours per week (negotiable). Core office hours are from 9:30am to 2:30pm, Monday to Thursday and there is some flexibility regarding which days and times the successful applicant chooses to work.

INDICATIVE aCTIVITIES

The Alliance is seeking a Volunteer Videographer to assist in:

  • Developing engaging, inspiring and impactful video content
  • The editing of images, videos and presentations
  • All areas with our in-house editors/videographers
  • Planning and creating a variety of content alongside our team
  • Identifying content ideas across all platforms
  • Reviewing news, media releases and relevant websites to source content and identify upcoming events and opportunities
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of the communications strategy, policies, procedures, registers and records.
  • Drafting of communication documents, articles, newsletters, and video content for the organisation’s website including blogs, reviews and project reports
  • Representing the organisation as required, including by participating in functions, events and meetings

RELEVANT SKILLS

  • Skilled in using Premier Pro, Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Suite applications.
  • Videography and editing skills
  • Interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to engage with colleagues both internally and externally, and with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Time management skills and an ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Sound problem solving skills and an ability to work independently, as well as an effective team member to achieve shared goals
  • Ability to create content of a high quality, an understanding of targeted campaign posting and familiarity with video editing software
  • Training and/or experience in marketing, communications, media and/or journalism, while not essential, would be an advantage
  • Training and/or experience in environmental conservation, rural development, agriculture, climate change or similar, while not essential, would be an advantage

CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT

The Global EverGreening Alliance has zero tolerance to child abuse, discrimination, harassment and workplace bullying. All staff, including volunteers, are required to sign an acknowledgement and adhere strictly to the organisation’s child protection and other policies. In addition, the successful applicant will need to provide a recent Australian Police Record Check and either provide or successfully apply for a Working with Children Check card.
