GMI are in the process of an exciting transition from a communal model to newly developed Core and Cluster model (one of the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Family Violence), with new purpose-built facilities.
The role of the Case Manager is to provide specialist family violence risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy and holistic case management support to women and children/young people who have experienced family violence and sought refuge in our crisis accommodation.
The successful applicants will work from an intersectional feminist framework and recognise family violence as a gendered issue that impacts significantly on women and children/young people, whilst drawing from other relevant legislations and frameworks to ensure systemic and strengths-based service delivery.
GMI is committed to the implementation of Recommendation 209 of the Royal Commission: ‘the Victorian Government to include in the 10-year industry plan for family violence prevention and response a staged process for the introduction of mandatory qualifications for specialist family violence practitioners, so that no later than 31 December 2020 all funded services must require family violence practitioners to hold a social work or equivalent degree.’ (Recommendation 209).
You will be rewarded with a positive work culture, Social, Community Housing and Disability Services Award conditions, EBA above award conditions, an organisational commitment to professional development and salary packaging options.
