About the role

The Financial Counsellor Senior Practitioner will lead a generalist Good Shepherd financial counselling team ensuring the MARAM guidelines are implemented, and the Financial Counselling Code of Ethical Practice is followed. This role will also undertake a reduced financial counselling case load of approximately 15 clients.

This position will support the development of new referral pathways and best practice co-delivery with Good Shepherd internal services and external service providers.

Travel to neighbourhood houses and community centres around Southport and Gold Coast may be required from time to time, based on client need of the program.

About you

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Minimum Diploma level qualifications in Financial Counselling
  • Undertaken Supervision Training in line with FCAQ & FCA requirements
  • Experience working with vulnerable clients; those that have experienced financial difficulty or at risk of poverty, family violence, family breakdown.
  • Significant experience in a leadership role; implementation / delivery of intake, assessment, case work practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication and case note taking skills
  • Commitment to personal and professional development
  • Strong ethos of team collaboration
  • Current driver’s licence
  • You may need to provide evidence of Covid-19 vaccination, or medical exemption.
