As an integral member of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) Leadership team and a critical Enterprise role, this role is accountable for leading GSANZ Risk and Assurance priorities. The role will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to define an enterprise-wide risk assessment and reporting approach, support the facilitation of risk appetite discussions with the Board, and prioritise risk actions and Assurance activities.

Key Areas of accountability include:

  • Enterprise Risk Framework Establishment and Oversight
  • Risk Management Monitoring, Controls, Reporting and Testing
  • Assurance, Audit & Compliance
  • Financial Product Compliance Oversight
  • Board Risk Reporting, via COO & CEO & ELT

You will drive impact by:

  • Facilitating discussions with the Executive Leadership Team and the Board to determine organisational risk appetite
  • Developing strong and effective relationships with multiple stakeholders and business units to foster a team-based approach and risk-aware culture
  • Strengthening and evolving risk oversight, mitigation, reporting and compliance practices through and uplift In risk management tools, practices, policies and capability
  • Leading priority activities required for effective governance of organisational entities and maintain oversight of audit programs of work
  • Work with subject matter experts across the organisation to Identify, assess, control and monitor risk, obligations and controls
  • Partnering with other business units In the development and roll out of Risk Management and Incident Reporting systems, simplify organisational policy and procedure framework, and develop a risk reporting
  • Providing advisory support to the organisation In managing risk and meeting compliance obligations of strategic program and regulatory change projects as well as financial product management

About you

We are looking for someone with exceptional interpersonal skills crucial for building relationships and managing stakeholders across all levels of the organisation. You will also have executive level experience in a risk/audit role in community services, government and/or private sector coupled with a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

This role requires:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Management or related discipline
  • Substantial experience in leading or significantly shaping strategy development and associated initiatives
  • Significant executive level experience in risk/audit role in Community Services, Government and/or private sector
  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster collaborative relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven track record in understanding and managing regulatory change in a commercial and practical way.
  • Experience in report writing for an executive or committee level audience.
  • Evidence of full Covid-19 vaccination, or medical exemption.
