  • $110,954 ($56.15/hour) + super, salary packaging (up to $18,000 tax free/year) & gifted leave

The Manager of Design will lead the design function within the Research and Advisory team, working closely with the Head of Research and Advisory to deliver an agreed pipeline of work. The Manager of Design will be actively engaged as a service designer in the delivery of a range of design projects within Good Shepherd and to external consultancy clients.

About you

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Formal tertiary qualifications in design, social policy, social science, economics or other relevant discipline
  • Extensive experience working in service design roles within or consulting to the community sector, a peak body, government department or statutory authority, with a track record of delivering human centred design (experience of working with people experiencing vulnerability within the community will be highly valued)
  • Experience managing a team
  • Knowledge of the social and political climate in one or more GSANZ priority areas
  • High level contract and project management skills, with the proven ability to lead and contribute to effective cross-functional teams and provide high-quality project delivery within resource and time constraints
  • High level strategic thinking, conceptual agility and analytical skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including relationship management skills and the proven ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders with competing agendas, handle sensitive issues, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Evidence of full Covid-19 vaccination, or medical exemption
