This is a designated First Nations Role. We are working with a First Nations Consultant who will sit on the selection panel and provide mentoring for the successful candidate for up to 3 months upon commencement in the position.
The role is hybrid working from home as well as local Good Shepherd Office or partner agency, ideally located on the lands of the Gimuy-walubarra Yidi (Cairns), Turrbal and Jagera people (Brisbane) OR Yugembeh people (Southport ). Other locations will also be considered.
The Financial Independence Hub (FIH) is co-designed by people with lived experience of domestic and family violence (DFV). It is a national, innovative program developed by Good Shepherd in collaboration with The Commonwealth Bank of Australia. The FIH is a recovery program designed to support individuals who have experienced financial abuse as part of domestic and family violence (DFV).
The goal of FIH coaching is to partner with participants to build their confidence to undertake self-directed behaviour change. Coaching focusses on participants feeling empowered to manage their finances effectively, to recover from the impacts of financial abuse and avoid future financial problems. The behaviour change process is client-driven and designed to support participants to take actions to reach their stated goals. Coaches are not experts; they provide encouragement and support rather than advice.
Due to team growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join the Financial Independence Hub. The Team Leader will provide day-to-day operational leadership and supervision to the FIH team supporting the delivery of a high-quality access, financial coaching and referrals to participants accessing the services of the Financial Independence Hub. The Team Leader is also responsible to increase awareness of FIH and support the delivery of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan.
