The Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS) is a not-for-profit organisation providing a range of animal welfare services including pound, shelter and veterinary services to the Geelong region. The Role

The Manager, Fundraising and Community Engagement is an integral position at GAWS as it contributes to the organisation’s ability to maintain its sustainability as an animal welfare establishment. The role’s primary purposes are to raise the profile of GAWS and to increase the level of financial support from the local community and businesses through the development and implementation of community engagement plans, strategic marketing, and fundraising activities and programs.

Working closely with the Fundraising and Marketing Administration Officer and Volunteer Coordinator, this is a true opportunity to make a difference for both GAWS, the animals and the Geelong community with free range to be creative and own the functions.

This is a busy role in an organisation with very limited resources. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is part of the senior leadership team. This position is permanent part time, working 30.4 hours a week (flexibility available and arrangements to be confirmed with the successful candidate).

Who are you?

  • Experienced professional in marketing and fundraising.
  • Hands-on and outcome-focused professional.
  • Excellent skills in copy-writing and content management creation for website.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and work with internal and stakeholders to get things done.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities, and sound judgement to manage operational matters in a timely manner.
