An exciting opportunity exists to join the Diversity Team at Greater Shepparton City Council. The Positive Ageing Officer will lead, support, develop and promote a positive ageing program within municipality. This strategic role will work with community to develop a Positive Ageing Strategy that creates initiatives and programs for older people to be healthy and active community members.

The Positive Ageing Officer will be enthusiastic, resourceful, responsive and collaborative.

The successful applicant will have:

• TAFE or Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, aged care, community development, social sciences or a strong community services background related field and/or extensive experience
• Demonstrated experience in community capacity building and working with communities to build effective partnerships
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise workload to complete tasks and projects within agreed deadlines
