Insights Analyst - Flexible Location

Greenpeace Australia Pacific

GREENPEACE

Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation, which uses peaceful, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems, and develop solutions for a green and peaceful future.

THE TEAM

The Insights Team is made up of the Senior Insights Strategist and Insights Analyst, and sits within the Creative and Technology Department, alongside colleagues in engineering, creative, and user experience (UX). The primary goal of Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GPAP) is to bring down the power of the fossil fuel order over our democracy and within our region to enable climate action at the necessary speed and scale; this team's job is to produce insights that will help us do this bigger, better, and more impactfully.

THE ROLE

GPAP is looking for an Insights Analyst to join us on a 12-month contract basis. With a focus on both fundraising and engagement, the Insights Analyst turns data into actionable organisational insights and opportunities. This role gathers information from across our various systems, synthesises it, and provides insights that inform and empower data driven decision making, help us grow our crew, and increase our reach and impact.

The Insights Analyst supports GPAP to understand its audiences, including financial and non-financial supporters, by developing fit-for-purpose reporting, dashboards and visualisations to gather relevant data about current and potential audiences. This data is then analysed to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for innovation, and the findings are presented to stakeholders across the organisation, to support and enable data driven decision making.

This role requires domain expert leadership and collaboration with a diverse range of people across the organisation, in addition to communicating insights effectively, in the most appropriate way for the audience.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We’re looking for someone who loves working with data, and bringing it to life for a range of different audiences!

You’ll have:

  • At least three years’ experience in a similar digital-focused insights analyst role;

  • High level communication skills that allow you to work closely with decision makers across teams to help them understand important indicators, patterns and trends in data;

  • The capability to educate and support other teams to build their work-related dashboards independently;

  • The capabilities to undertake complex data work with large data sets, or manage automated data pipelines/workflows;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and other analytics tools as well as at least one years’ experience on a reporting software such as Tableau;

  • Experience working to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement across fundraising, engagement, marketing, communications and/or mobilisation strategies; and

  • An eye for detail, and the ability to make sure the little things in large data sets don’t get missed.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • The opportunity to learn from and collaborate with Insights teams across Greenpeace International and other global offices;

  • The chance to put your data insights skills to work for positive change, and drive data driven decision making across the organisation;

  • A great work-life balance including 35 hour work week, integrity framework and generous leave conditions;

  • Flexible working conditions including remote work from home, and

  • A culture that celebrates inclusivity and diversity.

Salary $86,188.42 per annum + Superannuation.

Open to applicants Australia wide, with a preference for Sydney or Melbourne for the opportunity to join in person staff workshops, meetings, get-togethers and creative confrontation activities.
