The Greens NSW is comprised of 62 local groups across NSW. We currently have three Members of Parliament in the Upper House and three in the Lower House in NSW Parliament. In the Federal Parliament, we have ten Senators and one Lower House MP.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is the perfect role for a committed campaigner and community organiser who wants to have a meaningful impact on the political landscape in NSW. The Campaign Assistant will support our candidates and work closely with experienced Greens volunteers to engage our support base and help them to connect with the public.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Organising: Engaging volunteers and assisting with the logistics for street stalls and train stations, door knocking, telephone banking and other campaign activities
  2. Communication Support: Assistance with the set up and use of printed materials to support the campaign.
  3. Other duties as directed.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

The Campaign Assistant must meet the following essential requirements:

  1. Experience working or volunteering to support an election, social justice, environment, and/or community campaign.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  3. Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  4. The ability to coordinate and work effectively with a busy and energetic team of campaign volunteers.
  5. Demonstrated emotional intelligence, problem solving skills and resilience.
  6. An understanding of the Greens and support for the party’s principles, policies, and decision-making processes.
  7. Advanced skills in MS Office, Google suite of products and with CRMs.
  8. Hold or willing to obtain a current working with children check.
  9. A driver licence and access to a car.

Note: Occasional evening and weekend work and travel within NSW will be required.

Successful candidates must not be a member of another political party.

PAY AND CONDITIONS

Salary range: Administration Worker Step 2: $ 75,919 FTE p.a. + 11.5% superannuation

Primary Location: Work from home or home of campaign manager

Hours: Full time - 35 per week

Status: Contract until one day after the state election

Position begins: 13 February 2023
